It was November of 1993 when Rita Znamirowsky was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cell carcinoma. This is a type of kidney cancer that had also metastasized to both of her lungs and liver. Her doctors at Sloan Kettering refused to operate to remove the cancerous kidney saying that she was already stage 4 and she was given no other treatment options but was told to simply go home and die, an event that her doctors predicted would happen within the next 2-3 months. Rita later consulted with five other doctors who all confirmed that the cancer was inoperable and there was nothing more they could do for her.

Rita later consulted with five other doctors who all confirmed that the cancer was inoperable and there was nothing more they could do for her.
Rita was given some health advice from a friend who had used natural therapies to heal from testicular cancer a few years earlier. He introduced her to the alternative healing teachings of Ruth Sackman and the organization that she founded called F.A.C.T, which is the Foundation for the Advancement in Cancer Therapy. He also gave her some suggestions regarding various methods of detoxification methods that she could do (such as enemas), along with making drastic changes to her diet and by juicing fresh vegetables. She immediately started on those therapies.
Rita continued looking for a doctor who was willing to remove her cancerous kidney and finally found one located in Florida. The doctor also offered to start her on immune-therapy, but when the time for the surgery arrived she found out that she was too anemic so it had to be postponed. Her friend suggested that she begin to drink the juice of fresh beets and carrots 3-4 times per day for two weeks in order to help with the anemia. She followed this recommendations and by the end of two weeks she was no longer anemic and was even healthy enough to donate 2 pints of blood towards the kidney operation.
Following the surgery, Rita still had the cancerous tumors in her liver and lungs, but she continued on with the diet recommendations and the juicing regimens that FACT had given to her and gradually the number of cancerous nodes decreased in size and number until they eventually disappeared altogether.
In her 2004 testimonial Rita says. “It has been 11 years since receiving that terrifying diagnosis. At the same time, it has been 11 years since I began religiously following Ruth Sackman’s advice. Not only was all of this accomplished without any chemotherapy, but my lungs are cancer-free as well. I know this is because I follow a holistic way of life. When people ask me if going through detox was easy, I have to honestly say, no it was not. However, I can also tell them that it was certainly a lot easier than going through chemo & radiation treatments. Without a doubt I know that I was given a second chance and am alive today because of Ruth Sackman and FACT.” Rita Znamirowsky, November 2004.
