Introduction
Belonging to the family of Rutaceae, Bael or Aegle marmelos is a medicinal plant that has been extensively used in Ayurveda. Bel patra can be effectively used to combat ailments like deafness, inflammations, asthmatic complaints, diabetes and catarrh. Bael patra leaves contain proteins,  fats, carbohydrates, fibers, and minerals including calcium, phosphorus and Vitamin C. (1)

BAEL PATRA POWDER AND CANCER
Detailed studies are conducted upon bael patra powder to understand its anticancer properties. Bael patra powder contains phytochemicals which possess chemopreventive, radioprotective and antineoplastic effects which can prevent the growth and proliferation of carcinogenic cells. (2)

RESEARCH

1. Results obtained from a study identified administration of bel patra powder prevents the metastasis of cancer cell lines, especially leukaemia cells. (2)
2. In another study, the administration of bael patra powder produced effective results against breast cancer cell lines. Mammary tumor volume was significantly reduced along with different serum biomarkers. (3)
3. Results from another study revealed bael patra powder produced effective anticancer activity against lung cancer cells mediated through caspase 3 and caspase 9 mRNA expression. (4)

EAT AS PER YOUR WEIGHT
Bael patra powder should be mixed with a cup of lukewarm water. Half to one teaspoon of bael patra powder can be consumed once or twice daily. (5)
